Tika-Tika Students will demonstrate in a variety of ways (voice, instruments, reading, listening and moving to music) a note that has FOUR Equal sounds on ONE beat. Ti-Tika and Tika-Ti The first rhythmic concept in which the sounds are unevenly distributed. In either care there are THREE unequal sounds on ONE beat. One sound will be long and the other two will be equally short. Instrumental
Crossover Bordun A melodic accompaniment in which students play the tonic, dominant and the tonic note an octave above. They do this by alternating and crossing over their hands at the same time. |

Low La Students will demonstrate in a variety of ways the concept of Low La. Students will be able to read patterns and perform them using their voice or an instrument. Low La is a sound lower than Do and it may function as a tonic. Low La can have major and minor implications. Low La introduces the minor mode and the term subscript. Low Sol Students will demonstrate in a variety of ways the concept of Low Sol. Students will be able to read patterns and perform them using their voice or an instrument. Low Sol may function as an upbeat to the dominant (Do). It is a neighboring tone to Low La and is an approach note to Do. |
